History

Hayburner Haven started out on 3 acres in Brookswood with 1 horse, Czar.   Czar was

my first horse, bought as a 13 year old stallion. Thank gosh for un-horsey parents that
didn't realize what they had just bought thier 9 year old. Czar was gelded as part of the
sales agreement and brought home  a couple months later to his newly constructed 3 stall
barn.
Czar taught me everything I ever needed to know about handling highstrung horses, as
well as what a bond between a horse and rider can do.
After a llama companion, and a couple boarders, the 2nd horse came along. A 4 month old
Tb filly rescued from the auction. Rebound was with us for  just over year . After an
unfortunate accident in her stall, where she shattered her pelvis and femur, she had to be
put down. I guess this is where Hayburner Haven began..........
The next local auction found me coming home with 5 horses; 4 resales and Durango, my
palomino paint, who like Czar is here forever. A friend started giving lessons and we had
one or 2 rescues coming through at a time until it was time to upgrade.
Thanks to a wonderfully supportive family, we moved to our new farm on July 30th,
2005, one month after graduation. At the new farm, the construction began, new stalls,
paddocks, ring, shelters, fencing....the works.
. We have placed over 3000 horses since then. We act as sort of a half way house,
offering people a place to drop off thier horses and we will find them a home. We hope to
continue doing this for years to come but at a slightly smaller scale [ from 20-30 projects to about 5 so we can shift our focus to mor boarding and sales to help keep things running.]

Philosophy- We try to keep Hayburner Haven fun, from our late evening rides in the
front field and gallops through the pastures, to mid summer barn wide slurpy runs and
mud fights, it's all in good fun.
In my opinion...horses love doing repetative circles as much as we do.... Have some fun
with your horse, go on an adventure , kick back and have a relaxing hack, go
somewhere new. As long as you trust your horse and they trust you, the possibilities are
endless. Every horse has something to teach you, you just have to let them do it.
I have been in many situations, I would have never dreamed of with my horses and with
a good horse, you can get through them all. Riding down freeways and thru drivethrus,
stuck on cliffs, bridges over water falls, grey cup parade in Vancouver, the list is
endless...so go saddle up and see where you can go. May you be surrounded by great horses and good friends on all of your adventures!
